CEO, Denise Buch has been an integral part of the company focusing on the financial operations, strategic growth, bonding and insurance capabilities as well as banking since day one. Denise holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of Baltimore.
President, Carl Buch leads Buch Construction’s strategic growth and guides the direction of the company. With a Business Administration degree from Elon University, Carl brings both practical and formal experience to the role.
Senior Vice President, Michael Buch oversees all Buch Construction project teams. He ensures each project is staffed appropriately and focuses on building and maintaining excellent client relationships.
Executive Vice President, Peter Bulcavage oversees Buch Construction’s corporate interiors, life sciences and retail project teams. Peter has been an integral part of our team since 2004 and brings nearly 20 years of industry experience, including stints with top CM firms. A native of the Washington, DC area, Peter graduated from Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, VA. and holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Penn State. Service-oriented and quality-driven, Peter ensures that our projects meet the needs and visions of our clients, building long-lasting relationships through his passion and commitment.
Vice President, Jeff Chi manages Buch Construction’s daily operations and strategic planning. He brings more than 27 years hands-on experience in engineering design, construction, investment development and working for corporate owners on a range of projects. Jeff holds a Master’s Degree in Construction Management from University of Oklahoma, an MBA from Texas A&M University, a graduate degree in Architecture and an undergraduate degree in Structural Engineering. He is a member of the Maryland Structural Engineers Association, Maryland Realtors Association, National Retail Federation, Urban Land Institute and International Council of Shopping Centers.
Vice President, Allan Reed oversees Buch Construction’s projects ensuring teams implement each project properly, stay ahead of schedule, uphold product quality and follow up promptly on client requests. Allan has been an integral part of the company since our inception in 1984. With more than 30 years hands-on construction and field management experience, Allan began his career as a carpenter and worked his way to his current position.
Vice President, Gonzalo Martinez provides support to the project teams with respect to budgets, scheduling and constructability. He has been an integral part of our team for almost two decades, bringing with him more than 25 years experience. Gonzo began his career as a carpenter’s apprentice, focusing on construction for a range of retail clients and quickly moved on to corporate interiors. In 2006, he was promoted to Vice President of the Interiors Group and in 2016 was promoted to his current position.
Vice President, Field Operations, Mark Ward oversees field operations, assigns project teams and coordinates manpower and company resources. He routinely visits job sites to ensure project schedules, quality and safety meet both the customers’ satisfaction and our standards of excellence. With almost three decades construction experience, Mark has been part of our team for nearly two decades, having gained in-depth understanding of the trades and management style from hands-on experience. Mark is also an active member of the Board of Trustees of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Carpenter & Apprenticeship Committee.
Vice President, Interiors, Stephen Bulcavage generates new business opportunities, builds client relationships and manages our interiors team. He has been an integral part of our team for more than a decade, bringing with him more than 16 years industry experience. Steve is a native of the Washington, D.C. area and graduated from Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, VA. He holds a Bachelors Degree from Towson University, where he also played football. Steve has continued to build his industry expertise, becoming a LEED AP and obtaining additional state licenses to help broaden Buch Construction’s geographical work area.
Vice President, Construction, Zach Schneider oversees Buch Construction’s retail and base building operations, building the company portfolio and strengthening client and industry relationships. Zach began his career at Buch in 1998 and worked his way up through Asst. Superintendent, Project Engineer, and Project Manager, most recently serving the company as a Senior Project Manager. Zach has supervised roughly 2.3 million SF of base building, retail, large scale renovations, industrial, financial institutions, and tenant interiors. In addition to his work at Buch, Zach is the Assistant Fire Chief at the Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department in Sykesville, Md.
As Vice President, Northeast, Ray Atkin oversees the Buch New York office. With over 40 years experience in the industry, Ray has worked as Director of Construction for Macy’s and has been a director of capital projects at both Macy’s and Bloomingdales. His passion for his work is evident in both his dedication to the job and his enthusiasm when presented with new challenges. A Long Island native, Ray is also an avid sailor in his spare time.
Vice President, Anthony Agliata is an expert at delivering high-quality spaces to his clients within their budget and logistical constraints. Anthony has worked at Buch since 2006 starting as a project engineer, and has worked on some of the company’s highest profile tenant interior, repositioning, and multifamily projects. A graduate of Iowa State University with a Masters in Real Estate Development from University of Maryland, Agliata spent his childhood in the Midwest. In his free time he enjoys swimming—a lifelong passion—, dining out and spending time with his family.
Since 2008, Jeff Williford has been working on highly technical and complex projects for the life science industry including laboratories, manufacturing sites, and mechanical, electrical, and process water systems. Jeff joined Buch in 2014 and is now Vice President of the organization’s Life Sciences Division. Jeff will be responsible for leading the Life Sciences team and building long standing relationships with both clients and subcontractors. A Maryland native, Jeff is a proud University of Maryland alumni and serves on ISPE’s (International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineering) Chesapeake Bay Area Chapter’s Board. In his free time, Jeff enjoys playing golf and spending time with wife and two children on their farm.
As Vice President, Pre-Construction, Ryan Vick is responsible for Buch’s pre-construction services across all market sectors. Born and raised in North Carolina, Ryan graduated from East Carolina University with a B.S. in Construction Management. He has been at Buch since 2001, creating strong relationships by working on projects big and small, from retail to life sciences, interiors to base buildings. Ryan also enjoys traveling with his family, coaching his sons’ sports teams, and golfing.
Vice President, Safety, Greg Pool oversees all aspects of safety and field compliance for Buch Construction. Greg joined Buch in 2010, bringing 21 years experience with the United States Air Force where he held several safety positions. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupation Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University and an Associates Degree in Construction Technology and Occupational Safety and Health from the Community College of the Air Force.
Ryan Dougherty, Chief Financial Officer, oversees the finance and accounting functions at Buch Construction. A Maryland native and Calvert Hall graduate, Ryan received his Bachelor of Science, Mathematics in Actuarial Science and Risk Management degree from Towson University. His technical expertise and extensive financial and operational experience within the industry allow him to identify and assess complex construction risks and implement respective risk mitigation strategies. His forward-looking approach enables Ryan to be an integral part in the financial strategy and growth of the company. Married with four children, Ryan is passionate about spending time outdoors with his family, coaching his kids in sports and all things Ravens.
Director, Retail, Greg Kozero leads the day-to-day operations of Buch’s retail team, generates new business opportunities and maintains excellent client relationships. Since joining Buch in 2013 as a project engineer, Greg has gained significant experience and understanding of the retail marketplace, which allows him to support his project teams throughout all facets of the project life cycle and beyond. Throughout his career, Greg has delivered and overseen over a million square feet of construction in the following market sectors: retail, life sciences, and corporate office. Greg holds a BS degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus from Penn State University and is currently an active member of ICSC and RCA. In his free time, he enjoys being outdoors, taking on small house projects and spending time with his family.
Lein Holsboer, Director of Marketing and Business Development, leads Buch’s marketing initiatives and outreach. Lein holds a Bachelor of Communications with a focus on Digital Marketing from the University of Maryland, where she played field hockey and earned All-American, as well as All-Big-Ten honors. With her passion for branding and professional development she is an active committee member and board member of industry organizations such as CREW MD Suburban and SMPS Maryland. Originally from the Netherlands, she enjoys long bike rides, Dutch cheese and the color orange.
