At Buch, giving back has never been a box to check, it’s just part of who we are. From the projects we build to the partnerships we nurture, we believe that strong families and strong communities are the foundation for a brighter future.

That belief has guided our decade-long partnership with Hope Ignites Baltimore, formerly known as Boys Hope Girls Hope. What started as a shared vision to invest in the next generation has grown into a lasting partnership rooted in trust and shared purpose.

Hope Ignites helps motivated students reach their full potential through three core programs: a residential program that provides a safe home environment, an academy program that offers after-school enrichment and mentoring, and post-secondary support to guide graduates through college and career opportunities. Together, these programs support Scholars annually, providing the structure and resources they need to succeed in school and beyond. The results are life-changing, not just for the Scholars themselves, but for their families and the communities they go on to impact.

For the past seven years, Buch has proudly supported Hope Ignites, Baltimore through Friendsgiving, a celebration that brings together partners, team members, and guests to raise critical funds for these programs. This year, thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, including our trade partners and local communities, we raised enough to help cover a significant portion of the annual operating costs for both residential homes. Those funds go toward keeping the lights on, preparing meals, and supporting the dedicated staff who make these homes feel like family. Most importantly, they help create stability and opportunity for every Scholar who walks through those doors.

As Executive Director Paige from Hope Ignites Baltimore shared:

“At Hope Ignites Baltimore, we have the incredible opportunity to tap into the brilliance, creativity, and resilience that make this city so special. Every day, we work to light the spark within our young people and make sure that hope isn’t a privilege for a few, but a promise we keep to every Scholar we serve.”
