Auburn University Watson Fieldhouse and Athletics Complex

Buch was selected to renovate key athletic support spaces within the Watson Fieldhouse and the adjacent Athletics Complex, home to Auburn’s volleyball program.

The project was as complex as it was exciting. Our team managed the simultaneous renovation of administrative offices, a recruitment lounge, and an advanced new locker room and physical therapy area. Coordination was crucial, especially with custom-built lockers that carried a 16-week lead time and had to fit within half-inch tolerances. The locker room design incorporated custom millwork, advanced lighting, and integrated video monitors above each locker to display players’ names, highlights, or motivational content.

The finished space features DMX-controlled ceiling lights and RGB floor lighting that allows staff to set the tone for any occasion. Beneath the glamour lays serious craftsmanship: intricate framing systems, vinyl inlaid flooring with the Auburn logo, and meticulous alignment of every ceiling and lighting component.

Despite challenges of working around athletic schedules, we delivered the fieldhouse early, giving coaches and staff time to move in and settle before the season began. The early completion earned high praise from the athletics department and reinforced the team’s reputation for flexibility and collaboration. And the best part? The volleyball team’s reaction to the reveal says it all.
