National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST)

Buch completed a renovation for the National Institution of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Building 221 on their mission critical campus in Gaithersburg, MD. The project was a renovation of spaces A108/B105 for their relocated International Temperature Scale Laboratory. Buch was contracted to provide new utilities, including nitrogen, 100# compressed air, and chilled water lines to the lab. Freestanding electrical raceways and outlets were installed and the lighting controls were modified to accommodate the multiple entrances. Casework, countertops, and upper cabinets were installed along with a new lab sink and 90o swivel eyewash to provide a highly-functional space for the lab users.
