Macy’s and Toys”R”Us have partnered up by installing Toys”R”Us branded toy shops in its stores across the country. Buch was selected to be a part of this great initiative by building out the largest shop at Macy’s Herald Square in New York city. The scope included the demolition and relocation of the HR Administrative offices to the 8th floor to accommodate the Toys”R”Us fit-out on the 7th floor where we also installed a full-size kids’ playground. Unforeseen existing conditions were discovered after demolition which added 800+ manhours of additional scope. Buch worked 3-shifts over the course of 3 weeks, including weekends, and was able to successfully deliver the project in time for Mad Money to record in the store with Jim Cramer and Macy’s Chairman and CEO, Jeff Genette.
